Prototypes are used throughout the design process to test form, fit, and function. They may be mechanical mock-ups, short-run injection molded parts, or 3D prints, also called Rapid Prototypes. Rapid prototyping is the automatic construction of physical objects using additive manufacturing technology directly from a CAD model. Conduit recently acquired an in-house FDM Rapid Prototyping machine to enable faster prototype turn-around.
